CyberEdBoard Talks - MFA Fatigue - How Threat Actors are Entering an Unlikely Backdoor Into your System

Moderator: Jeremy Grant, Managing Director, Venable

Featured Speaker: Manuel Garat, Head of IAM, Booking.com

The last year has made clear that all multi-factor authentication (MFA) is not the same – and the old guidance that cybersecurity professionals have given to turn on MFA may not be as sound if the MFA being used is susceptible to phishing attacks.  Regulators and security experts alike are now urging the use of MFA that is “phishing resistant,” meaning that someone can’t be tricked into handing over a one-time-password code or clicking “approve” on an authentication app that launches with a push notification to their phone.  This session will discuss the ways in which attackers have caught up with legacy MFA tools and discuss the path forward.
